Take Your Family's Future Seriously

As we get older our circumstances and priorities will change:  getting married, children might arrive, relationships break down and our financial situation will alter over time. Through all these stages of life we want to ensure that those we care about are protected.

It is essential you have plans in place for when you’re no longer around.  If you die without a Will, your assets may be put into the wrong hands, as the law will decide who gets what.

That’s where Eternal Wills can help.  A Swindon based independent Will writing company providing free home visits* or at a location of your choice*, with evening and weekend appointments also available - perfect for busy or home based people.  Lasting powers of attorney services are also available on this basis.
* within a 20 mile radius of Swindon

Leave Your Loved Ones a Will, Not a Headache!
Why make a will?
No Will means your dependants will automatically have to rely instead on laws dating back to 1925.  Dying intestate could mean delays and missed bequests for those you leave behind, and the taxman may also take a bigger slice.
If you’re not married or in a civil partnership, your partner will not automatically inherit anything when you die.
If you’re married, or separated, your spouse may inherit most or all of your estate and your children may not receive anything
.
Gain Peace of Mind
By making a Will you get to choose someone you trust as an executor to carry out your wishes, from money and property distribution to funeral arrangements.

You can appoint guardians for children under 18 as well as safeguarding for their futures.
If you wish to help your loved ones and have an idea of how you’d like your affairs to be managed after your death, making a Will is vital

Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) Service
Have control over who makes decisions when you’re no longer capable.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is separate to your Will and gives you peace of mind by appointing someone to make decisions on your behalf.  Whether through illness, disability or age, LPAs give you an element of control even when circumstances mean that you’re no longer able to make some of your own.
There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney which cater for different aspects of your life.
  • Health & Welfare LPA – this covers all aspects of your daily care and medical treatments.
  • Property & Financial Affairs LPA – this covers all aspects regarding your home and money.
You can only put a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place whilst you are capable of understanding the nature and effect of the document, so it is advisable for this to be done at the earliest opportunity - while you still have the required legal capacity.

Without an officially registered LPA the Court of Protection would have to appoint a Court Deputy to deal with your affairs, which could result in costs into the £000’s.  Even if you’re married your spouse won’t necessarily be given control over all your affairs without a Power of Attorney
